Celebrate the Life, Music & Legacy of Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong

When: July 31 – August 2, 2020

Where: New Orleans Jazz Museum at the Mint

Cost: Daily Admission – $6.00

The first Satchmo SummerFest was organized in 2001 as a celebration of Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong’s 100th birthday. The love for the jazz icon has turned the event into one of the most entertaining annual festivals in New Orleans. Today, music lovers from all over the world descend on the French Quarter to dance to traditional New Orleans blues and jazz and enjoy great food and drink during the four-day festival.

What Does Satchmo Mean? That’s a great question, and the most likely answer is: a nickname given to Louis Armstrong as a young boy in New Orleans dancing for pennies.

Festival Highlights

  • Legendary Jazz Performances
  • National & International Speakers
  • Food & Drink Vendors

Check the website for the soon-to-be-released full schedule of bands, speakers, and vendors.
