With Fall just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about family fun for September and October. Luckily, there are dozens of great activities to consider across the country, many of which are just a short daytrip from home (and you don’t’ even have to cross state borders). Visit a Small Town
There are hundreds of charming small towns across the United States. If you haven’t been on a trip recently, a small town in the Fall could be just the thing! We will be highlighting destinations, lodging, and nearby activities to enjoy this fall.
Scenic Drives
One of the most popular activities during the fall months is enjoying the changing colors of the seasons. There are amazing places to see fall foliage in every corner of the United States and over 150 designated America’s Scenic Byways and All-American Roads to explore. The U.S. Forest Service maintains 154 national forests with beautiful scenery and countless outdoor activities.
Apple Picking
There are thousands of farms across the United States that allow guests to pick dozens of varieties of apples. Take a break from the grocery store with a visit to a local orchard for some of the best tasting apples you will eat all year.
Corn Mazes
Escape rooms may not be an option now, but most of the popular corn mazes will be open this fall. Spend the afternoon social distancing and trying to find the exit. We will be highlighting a few of the largest and most creative designs.
Fall Festivals
Many of the farms organize small festivals to celebrate the harvest. From cider donuts and pumpkin picking to petting zoos and hayrides, we can’t think of a better way to spend the day this fall. Not all of the festivals will be occurring this year, but we will highlight ones that are still taking place in every region of the United States.
