This nationally recognized event started as a picnic to honor Coast Guard personnel in 1924. Today, the festival attracts over 350,000 people from all over the world. Put this amazing family-friendly event on your summer calendar- it’s a highlight for many in the local West Michigan communities. There is really something for everyone, with at least one major event taking place every day – from parades to ship tours, ending with a spectacular fireworks display. You’ll be hard-pressed to find another summer festival with this many high quality activities, not to mention a beautiful setting along the Lake Michigan waterfront in Grand Haven.
