Newsletter Inspiration: Distillery Tours & Trails

Today some of the best distilled spirits are produced in major cities in the United States. You probably don’t associate bourbon, gin, tequila, and whiskey with Brooklyn (New York), Washington (District of Columbia), Austin (Texas), and Denver (Colorado) – but you should!! Our September Newsletter will highlight destinations to tour and taste award-winning distilled beverages. To get all the details, make sure to subscribe to the newsletter here.
Of course, we’ll also be touching on the great distillery trails in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Texas. We won’t forget about some of our favorite small towns producing impressive spirits. And, to top it off, why not include some great culinary spots to add to your fall getaway?
Featured Destination: Louisville
If you need some inspiration, start your own tasting itinerary over a long weekend in Louisville, Kentucky. Stay at the Brown Hotel or 21C Museum Hotel Louisville and visit the Bourbon District. Within walking distance are a few of the best distilleries in the world, including Angel’s Envy Distillery, Old Forester Distillery, Jim Beam Urban Stillhouse, and Rabbit Hole Distillery. Learn what to pair with your new favorite Kentucky bourbons while dining at local favorites like Bristol Bar & Grille – Downtown, Butchertown Grocery, Jack Fry’s, and Porch Kitchen & Bar.
Louisville is loaded with great attractions! Spend a few hours touring the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory and the Kentucky Derby Museum. Don’t miss the Nulu neighborhood— it’s one of our favorite areas to explore with cafes, boutique shops, and friendly people.
Before you leave town on the famous Kentucky Bourbon Trail, stop by Jockey Silks Bourbon Bar. Not only will you be in one of Louisville’s oldest bourbon bars, but they also have the country’s largest selection of Kentucky Bourbons (more than 150 available)!
