Corolla, North Carolina, a village in the Northern Outer Banks, is home to Currituck and Corolla Beaches with access to the Atlantic Ocean and the calmer waters of Currituck Sound. Corolla Beach is best known as a refuge for a herd of roaming Wild Colonial Spanish Mustangs. Access to these wide, rarely crowded beaches is only possible using high clearance 4×4 vehicles.
