Small Town Spotlight: Corolla, North Carolina

Highlights from the July Newsletter
Corolla, North Carolina, a village in the Northern Outer Banks, is home to Currituck and Corolla Beaches with access to the Atlantic Ocean and the calmer waters of Currituck Sound. Corolla Beach is best known as a refuge for a herd of roaming Wild Colonial Spanish Mustangs. Access to these wide, rarely crowded beaches is only possible using high clearance 4×4 vehicles. To get a better look at the wild mustangs, it’s best to book a tour— we recommend Back Country Safari Tours or Wild Horse Adventure Tours. While in town, visit Corolla Park and tour the historic Whalehead Club, the Currituck Beach Lighthouse, and the Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education. Bring your camera for great photos from atop the 158-foot lighthouse. Book a room at the highly regarded Inn at Corolla Light to complete your Northern Outer Banks experience!
