What’s New at the Zoo: The Detroit Zoo is Now Open!

The Detroit Zoo is a leader in wildlife conservation and education and one of Michigan’s largest attractions. With a limited number of guests allowed to enter each day, the the zoo is a great option for outdoor family fun. If you haven’t visited the zoo in a while, there’s a lot to see. Head to the Japanese macaque (snow monkey) habitat where you can see new baby Jun! The tigers are enjoying new digs in the Asian Forest with wooded areas, pools, and a waterfall.
Take the glass half-full approach to your visit this summer— the limited capacity means fewer crowds! You basically own the zoo for the day, so see how many of the 2,100 animals you can find!!!
New Zoo Guidelines
The Detroit Zoo is committed to the well-being of guests, team members, and animals. The zoo has implemented enhanced protocols and procedures to provide a safe family-friendly experience. Advance online ticket purchase is recommended to guarantee your timeslot and save some money— you can secure tickets up to two weeks in advance. Only a limited number of tickets will be available at the gate each day, depending on capacity within the 125-acre park. Expect adjustments to dining options and indoor attractions. Review the new guidelines before you go.
