The Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center just outside of Yellowstone Park started as a wildlife sanctuary for animals that can’t survive on their own in the wild. Today, you can walk through and see the wolves and bears, as well as birds of prey at this one-of-a-kind wildlife park. They educate the public about these animals and provide information on avoiding conflict with them. The Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center is open 365 days a year, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. The bears don’t hibernate here, so you can see them year-round!

Programs
Several times during the day, you can watch the bears when they feed, which is when they are most active. There are also a variety of fun and educational programs for visitors of all ages, including:
Birds of Prey Presentation – Learn about the resident raptors – hawks, eagles, owls, and falcons that cannot be released into the wild because of injury or abandonment.
Wolf Pack Chat – Join a naturalist as an animal keeper puts bones in the wolf habitats and watch the wolves socialize with their pack members.
Wildlife Watching – Meet in the warming hut to learn where, when, and how to watch bears and wolves in the wild. You’ll learn what areas of Yellowstone to target, what gear to bring, and more.
Yellowstone Park Ranger Presentations – Park Rangers discuss various topics on the wonders of Yellowstone. A great opportunity to learn about wolverines, bison, and thermal features.

Exhibits
The Naturalist Cabin is located between the two wolf habitats. Visitors can observe the wolf packs interact from the comfort of the warm cabin. There are also interpretive displays and a film on wolves.
Bears: Imagination and Reality Exhibit is an interactive museum exhibit with six thematic areas and over 25 taxidermic mounts of grizzly and black bears.
