Tour the Fort Worth Stockyards

Nov 18, 2019 | Blog, South, Tours & Experiences

The Fort Worth Stockyards is an entertainment mecca for visitors to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. If you had been here during the 1870’s to the 1950’s, you would be standing in the middle of a major center for the buying and transporting of livestock.

The one-hour historic tour of the stockyards is the perfect introduction to the area. You’ll still be talking about it as you head towards the 14 restaurants, 13 bars, 35 shops, and over 17 attractions that are a short walk from the Visitor Center.

Guided Walking Tour Options

Walk along Mule Alley and go behind-the- scenes into the Horse & Mule Barns to learn how millions of cattle, hogs, and sheep were bought, sold, and transported from this very location. Both tours are similar, and your guide will tell you about the history with interesting stories of the stockyards. The only difference being the Cowboy Tour also includes a visit to Billy Bob’s, the world’s largest honky-tonk.

Both tours are available at least two times a day and start at the Fort Worth Stockyards Visitor Center.
