Leaving Las Vegas: Seven Magic Mountains Art Installation
It would have been easy to stay in Las Vegas for a few more days to enjoy the spring-like temperatures, not to mention the never-ending number of things to see and do, but it was time to move on. We’re willing to bet you’ve seen pictures of the Seven Magic Mountains, but you may not have known it by name or that it is located just fifteen miles outside of Las Vegas on Interstate 15.
Our only detour of the day was to see Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone’s masterpiece before taking the scenic drive towards St. George, Utah, for lunch (Xetava Gardens Café in the Kayenta Art Village) and eventually arriving in Springdale, Utah, the gateway to Zion National Park.
Travel Tip: Seven Magic Mountains is an extremely popular art installation, with a parking lot that can hold dozens of cars. If you’re like us and want to get some good shots without people in them, go early in the day (mid-week is your best bet).
